As the province's first pilot area of reform and opening up, the first pilot city of urban-rural integration and a comprehensive reform demonstration area, the city has been well stepped on the path of urbanization, and the urbanization rate ranks second in the province. In recent years, Ezhou has successively put more than 50 national and provincial reform pilot tasks in practice, and many of its experiences can be copied by other cities in the province, and can be used as reference for many cities in the country. Ezhou took the lead in China in exploring the reform of the mechanism for realizing ecological value, which was approved and affirmed by four members of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, and its path was selected into 40 cases of local reform and innovation in the past 40 years of reform and opening up.
